If your birth was never registered with the local civil registrar — meaning walang record ng kapanganakan mo sa gobyerno — you will need to go through a late registration process before you can get a PSA birth certificate. This is more common than you think, especially for people born at home, in rural areas, or during natural disasters.

Kung hindi na-register ang kapanganakan mo sa local civil registrar — ibig sabihin walang record ng kapanganakan mo sa gobyerno — kailangan mong dumaan sa proseso ng late registration bago ka makakuha ng PSA birth certificate.   • School records (Form 137 or transcript)

Late registration takes time and effort, but it is absolutely worth doing. Without a registered birth, you cannot get a PSA birth certificate, which means you cannot get a passport, NBI clearance, or any major government ID. Huwag palampasin — simulan na ngayon.
